Belgium that’s us was an initiative by Els De Schepper, a famous standup comedy artist. She wanted to bring together the different cultures that live in Belgium through music and dance. She put together many artists, in different languages, in different styles and combined their music with orchestral arrangements that I created for the National Orchestra of Belgium.
The show started with Natalia singing her version of War, originally performed by Edwin Starr. Her powerful voice instantly kickstarted the concert. All eyes on the stage! After this song, the show continued with songs by Will Tura, Christoff, Sandra Kim, Victor Lazlo, Jef Neve, Ozark Henry, Els De Schepper and many more artists. The symphony played along with these songs, which took the overall sound to the next level. When you add an orchestra everything tends to sound even more dramatic. I like that a lot! It was very cool to hear this great orchestra play my arrangements and blast them through a big sound system, reaching 10.000 people!
If you are interested in the arrangements, just send me a message! Some of them are available for you, such as True Colors (Cyndi Lauper), Kiss Kiss (Tarkan), Respect (Aretha Franklin) and Seasons Of Love (Jonathan Larson).
The concert was a great succes! During the show I joined the band as a guitarist. Good times!
